Our volunteer workers are the backbone of the Association undertaking a variety of roles such as stock receipt and dispatch, administration and customer service reception. The majority of our volunteers either have a stoma themselves or have a close family member who is living with a stoma and so are able to provide social and emotional support to visiting members and their families or carers.
Volunteers attend the association on a roster basis determined by the availability of workers and the fluctuating needs of the association.
The majority of volunteers attend one day per month from 8.30am to 2.30pm although some do attend on a more regular basis.
The benefits associated with being able to interact with others sharing a similar condition are well documented and so new volunteers are most welcome and encouraged.
